Why Do We Write.

We write for several reason. The first is to remember everything we are suppose to. Trying to go all day without writing down what we are suppose to have finish would be close to impossible. Especially if you are a college student with an internship, four classes, and a job. We also write down the notes we are suppose to remember for exams. The second reason we right is to pass along information. Weather it's history or just gossip. Its a way to pass along what you want people to know.

  1. Hi Sarah--

Interesting concept: we write to pass along what we know. I think I agree with you, but I also think that what we know is tenuous. Isn't what we know also what we believe? And if that is the case, isn't what we believe relative from a rhetorical perspective?

  2. Hi Sarah,

It would be interesting to do an exercise where you couldn't write anything for a week. How would that change your behavior, your ability to communicate and even to access information? No computer, but TV and radio; food shopping a real adventure. That would be hard to do during the semester, though!
